Oh I love this! Such a great idea. Can I copy you? 😂 with my own nuances of course. But yeah, bots and AI are not the friends of authenticity. I, too, have taken a STRONG stance against the use of any “prompts,” or other written material from AI. It doesn’t feel right. I also strongly oppose the use of AI in fields and farming, but that’s a story for another day… 😏
Of course! I think it's a good way to go, as I don't think Substack is immune to bots and inauthentic writing. It's good to know you're dealing with actual people.
Will be linking to this well-written article later today! On the whole, I believe people do not yet see why supporting small creators/writers/poets/artists is a beneficial thing, until one day when they may find themselves in the same position... Then they will wish they had done something sooner. In some ways it's like the hitchhiking situation in Romania. 8 years ago when we moved here, rides were easier to catch, even for free. Now that more and more people own cars (i.e. walk far less than they used to), it takes longer and longer to hitch a ride, despite the fact that there are more cars on the road. How quickly the human mind forgets when it is in a hurry for progress!
When I click manage subscription the pop up says “you cannot manage the subscription in this app” I have an older version of Substack app on my iPad. I’ll try later with iPhone and iMac but I’m wondering if there is a workaround button somewhere. Thanks.
I was wondering this myself and looked it up. There’s nothing wrong with your app, Substack has intentionally not set up in app payments. The reason is, for example, Apple takes a 30% cut of in-app payments. So writers would be getting 30% less. You have to log in to Substack with a regular web browser and not the app instead.
